Photo: Star The team led by Kazi Wasi Uddin and Al Amin, executive magistrates of Wasa and district administration respectively, started the drive around 10:30am.
Around 100 day-labourers and 50 police personnel took part in the drive, which was continuing till filing of this report around 12:45pm.
“We have already demolished 15 structures including a three-storied and a five-storied building on the canal to make a public walk way,” Wasi Uddin told The Daily Star.
The construction work of walk way will start within the next couple of days, he said.
The team is expected to demolish total 37 illegal structures built on the canal stretching from Shewrapara to Janata Housing in West Agargaon.
