Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Dubai on her way to the United States where she will join the 66th United Nations General Assembly.
Bangladesh ambassador Mohammad Nazmul Quaunine and other top officials of the Bangladesh embassy in the United Arab Emirates welcomed Hasina at Dubai Airport early on Sunday.
She is scheduled to fly for New York after an eight-hour halt.
The prime minister is likely to reach New York at noon on Sunday (local time). She left Dhaka on Saturday night.
Apart from speaking in the UN assembly, Hasina will also hold high-profile meetings with US congressmen, and heads and ministers of several countries during the 11-day visit.
