Newly assigned Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu has said that he would 'sincerely' try to perform his responsibilities given by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) chief told this to bdnews24.com in an instant reaction on Saturday night over phone while he was returning to Dhaka after paying respect at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

"I've been informed over phone that I've been given the the charge of the Information Ministry. It's a great responsibility. I'll sincerely try to do the job that the honourable Prime Minister has given me. This shows her trust and faith on me,"

Inu also said that he would take necessary steps to implement the 8th Wage Board for journalists and staff of news media.

"I will take necessary steps to implement the Wage Board after discussing with the journalists, journalist leaders, owners and others concerned," he added.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday reshuffled the cabinet swapping portfolios of some ministers and distributing ministries among the newly inducted ministers and state ministers.

Of the new ministers, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir has been made the Home Minister, Mazibul Hoque has been given the responsibility of the Railway Ministry, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali entrusted with the responsibility of Relief and Disaster Management Ministry while Mostofa Faruq Mohammad with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry.

Two new state ministers -- Omar Faruk Chowdhury got industries and Abdul Hyee got Fisheries and Livestock.
