Even though trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) began initially with a rise, the general index started falling slowly after a series of rapid fluctuations.
After three hours of trading on Tuesday, the premier bourse's general index shed 51.87 points to stand at 5939.5. Shares worth a total of Tk 33.55 billion have been traded by then with the prices of most shares falling.
Of the traded issues, prices of 218 fell, 31 rose and five remained unchanged.
