Customs officials on Monday seized nearly 5kg gold from a Biman
Bangladesh Airlines flight returning from Dubai at the Shah Amanat
International Airport in Chittagong.
A team of Dhaka and Chittagong customs officials jointly conducted the raid and seized the gold from a bag which arrived on BG-048 flight early in the morning.
Airport Customs Assistant Commissioner Shahidul Islam told the flight carrying 170 passengers landed at around 4am. "Forty-one gold bars were seized from a bag."
No one had yet been arrested in connection with the incident, he added.
